Other Eyelid Surgery
As our eyelids age, the tissues can stretch, causing drooping of the upper lid or drooping of the lower lid.
Drooping of the upper lid is known as ptosis.

The lower lid can droop and turn out ( ectropion )
or droop and roll in ( entropion )
causing the eyelashes to rub on the eye ( trichiasis ).
All of these problems can be corrected surgically.
The surgery is performed in hospital as a day case procedure under local anaesthetic, with sedation if you are anxious.
The lid position is restored surgically with cutting and stitching.
Antibiotic ointment is used for a week on the cuts.
You are seen in the rooms a week later to have the stitches removed.
Doctor will discuss details of the specific procedure with you.
Please ask if you have any further questions.
