Who we are

She studied further, with postgraduate research into infectious diseases, gaining a Master of Surgery degree from the University of Melbourne. She is a member of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
She has been in specialist public and private practice since 1992 and participates in continuing medical education, surgical audit and peer review programmes to maintain and improve her clinical skills.
Dr Malatt consults in her Bangalow rooms on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and on Friday mornings.
She operates in Lismore on Friday afternoons.
She performs both public and private surgery and provides emergency and after hours services with other local ophthalmologists through the on-call service at the Lismore Base Hospital.
What we do
When you come to see Dr Malatt, she asks that you to take the time to be with yourself, so that you can make the most of the opportunity. She asks you questions and listens to your answers. She examines your eyes, and explains your eye problems in the context of your general health and wellbeing. She then offers you advice and suggests treatment.
She tests you for glasses, glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration. She prescribes gentle healing remedies where possible; drugs for the treatment of eye diseases where required; and performs surgery if needed. She will refer you to other treating practitioners if she feels this is in your best interests.
